Chinese New Year & Feng Shui
In honor of Chinese New Year, we wanted to dive into the art of Feng Shui! The Shine Line
We are so excited to tell you about our dear friend and style influencer, designer, and female entrepreneur…Heather Parker! Heather and I have known each other since 2002. We immediately hit it off when we met on a choir trip to New York. Over sushi, we talked for hours and she quickly became a sister to me and even lived with me for about 6 months. Her family comes from Native roots, and they are seriously the most wonderful, kind, and loving family ever! We sang together in the Saints United Voices choir directed by Gladys Knight for over 15 years. We always shared ideas for businesses over the years and just love and support each other in our personal and business ventures. It’s so nice to have someone close truly understand what it means to be an entrepreneur while still nurturing our families.
Shades of White
Are you one of the countless people who have moved during the pandemic? Well you are not alone! According to studies, about 8.93 million people in the US have moved homes since the start of the Covid-19 in 2020. That’s alot of new homes to decorate! And one of the first things you do when you move into a new home is decide on paint colors. This doesn’t have to be a painstaking task…it’s actually quite fun and there’s some simple ways to make sure you choose the perfect color especially when it comes to shades of white!
Office Essentials
Can you believe it will be 2 years this March since the first COVID-19 shut down? We never thought the impact of the virus would last this long and yet here we are. According to a study done in October 2021, 45% of employees are now working from home in a full-time or part-time capacity. Isn’t that crazy? We have learned to adapt to a new work culture from our pjs, merge our work and personal life, and juggle kids, dogs, and work calls!
Now more than ever, how we organize our work space is crucial. It really sets the tone each day for how well we get things done. That has brought us to highlight our very own Crimson Meadows home office and a few tips we find help ease tension and stress so you can find the utmost productivity as well as unclutter physically and mentally.
Matcha Monday P. 4
Happy New Year S.T.Y.L.E Nation!
2021 was WAY busier than we expected and we are grateful for it. But we owe you the Matcha Monday 411! What better time to pick up on the benefits of matcha than the first week of the new year? In past blogs, we’ve talked about how matcha is rich in antioxidants, supports brain function, and reduces your risk of heart disease.
Today we want to tackle one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions and the magic of matcha…weight loss!
Post Covid Outlook
In my very first STYLE blog I wrote about “Gratitude”, which was inspired by some of the deepest trials in life. Here I am again on the heels of another trial, the first day leaving my house after 20 days of COVID. 15 of those days being the worst sickness I’ve ever had. Let’s be clear, I unfortunately still have residual symptoms and I will still have to ease my way back into life and health, but I finally feel like a person again.
Oga’s Cantina Review
Just to give you guys some background, here at S.T.Y.L.E we are huge Star Wars fans. So when I went to Disneyland last week, Star Wars Land was a must! Everything from the food, rides, and scenery (which I will review in upcoming blogs)! One of my personal favorite parts of Star Wars Land was Oga’s Cantina Bar.
Hawaii Food Review
Well friends…this blog is 20 days overdue! Yes I went to Hawaii with my best friend (first vacation since COVID), had a fabulous time (which I’ll put in all the juicy details here), then got hit hard with COVID the day I got back home. So forgive me if I haven’t been able to review all the wonderful food places, beaches and hikes til now. In fact, this post will just be dedicated to food!
Market Week At 19
Market week (through the eyes of a 19 yr old).... Being so young, and going into this career has given me a handful of “firsts”. One of those bigger “firsts” was definitely Market Week. At the start of the week I was anxious, excited, and blown away all at the same time. I come from the small town of Richfield, Utah with the population of about 7,000 people. So walking into The Las Vegas World Market Center you can bet my jaw was on the floor. The buildings were massive with vendors filling every room in all three buildings. Yes, let me say that again.. Not one, not two, but THREE buildings.
Matcha Monday P. 3
Hello Friends of the Matcha Revolution! I’m happy that you all are benefiting from these posts! I’ve had a few people reach out and tell me they read my blog and tried my “Secret Starbucks Matcha Recipe” (posted at the end of Matcha Monday Part 2) and loved it ☺ I’ve also had a few people tell me they had no idea how many health benefits it had and that they are trying to switch over from drinking coffee or pop (or soda as some call it…wink wink).
Sneaker Head
Hello Tribe! I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted a “Fashion” Blog. The last one featured my Nike Air Force 1’s which I am a huge fan of. And since that first day of 2021, we’ve been lucky in our community that our children have had the ability to participate in sports. My oldest son plays Varsity basketball and one of the influences that being a basketball mom has afforded me, is my awareness of the importance of “Kicks”. My son is in full sneakerhead* mode these days. Not only does he appreciate Nike’s and wears them to dances, but he has started a business cleaning and restoring them! (Yes, proud mama moment!)
Matcha Monday P. 2
Welcome to Matcha Monday Part 2! There have been several special requests for this follow up to “I Love You So Matcha!” (y'all know who you are). Apparently, I’ve been dragging my feet and time has just zoomed by since my last Matcha post. Sorry Guys!
New York, The Big Apple
Well it’s only fitting that I follow up my San Francisco post with another city that stole Frank Sinatra’s heart…and mine…New York, New York. (Mind you…many of my upcoming travel posts will house information not pertaining to the past year with COVID). These posts are meant to inspire you to travel when travel is safe again
“I Love You So Matcha!”
That is the saying on a mug I got from one of my dearest friend’s last year in my birthday basket. I am a self-proclaimed connoisseur of Matcha. I have been drinking green tea for about 30 years now. I first discovered it when I worked with a tea company called Tea & Company in San Francisco (Jill & Gary if you’re out there somewhere, this is a shout out to you!). They were later sold and are now known as The Mighty Tea Leaf ☺
It’s The Simple Things
We’ve all heard the saying, “It’s the simple things”. What exactly does that mean? In design, I believe it’s about paying attention to the details. Since we are just in January and the economy has been hit pretty hard with the pandemic, I’d like to focus on adding and taking away some things from our living space that can make just the right changes in order to refresh.
Balance
Well 2020 sure was a doozy! The pandemic really gave the world a whole new set of challenges we haven’t ever had to deal with before. Changes in everyday function at work, at home and at school. We all had to shift and allow ourselves to think in different ways and to accommodate this new way of living and thinking. It truly put us all in a state of imbalance.
San Francisco
I know…you’re all thinking…why is she writing about travel when truly one of the hardest hit industries with this pandemic is travel. Well, what better way for you all to get acquainted with the different cities I’ve been blessed to visit in my lifetime during a time where travel is restricted. We can start our own bucket list called “Places we want to visit when this pandemic is over”.
